Phase 1 - Getting Started

If you are interested in participating in the Phase 1 experiments please complete the following steps to get started:

  1. Please read the Protocol in full and reach out to Natasha MacBean (nmacbean@uwo.ca) and Raj S. N. Deepak (rsurulin@uwo.ca) with any questions.
  2. Discuss within your modeling group about the protocol, who will be the model contact, who will perform the calibration experiments, and whether they can be done within the proposed timeline (see Protocol). If you can't complete the experiments in the proposed timeline, but you would still like to participate in Phase 1, please continue to Step 3 and fill out the form, notifying us in the relevant section that you will need more time. Or please reach out to Natasha and Raj if you're unsure about what your timeline will be.
  3. If you decide to participate in Phase 1, please go to the "Participants" tab under Phase 1 and click on the link to fill out the Model Sign-Up google form by January 9th 2026.
  4. Please then follow the protocol for the Phase 1a test calibration, including creating an account and registering your model on modelevaluation.org if it is not already registered. Full details can be found in the Phase 1 Protocol.
  5. After your modeling group has signed up, we will reach out with a link to the draft of the Phase 1 Protocol draft manuscript for you to input information about your model and calibration set-up.
  6. The deadline for completing the Phase 1a test calibration experiment is February 27th 2026. Tentative deadlines for completing the Phase 1b full multi-site calibrations and global simulations can be found in the Protocol document.
